DEFINITIONS OF SPARKLE LEVEL
Sparkles - intense glittery bits, which flash different colors, like aqua, purple, silver, gold etc. These are 100% eye safe but are quite similar in appearance to ultrafine glitter, but much smoother feeling, not gritty to the touch.
Iridescent - A color that changes hue as you look at it at different angles, like an oil slick does. This is an effect created by "interference" pigment mixed with other colors. Iridescence can be subtle and imparts only faint shimmeriness. We also have some highly unique iridescent shades that flash three or more colors.
Shimmer - Smaller mica particles than "sparkles", but still lots of sparkle in direct light... more than in most pressed shimmer/frost eye shadows, for example.
Pearl - Very much like, well, a pearl. Silky looking, and usually opaque. While this effect isn't matte and is reflective, there are usually no really obvious particles reflecting light back. This is what you get with a typical pressed shimmer/frost eyeshadow.

Note: Bismuth Oxychloride is considered by a growing number of people to be an unpleasant and unnecessary additive in foundations. However, it is only a tiny trace amount found in a few of our lip colors; it simply isn't detectable by the consumer in such trace amounts (especially as a lip color additive, rather than a whole-face type product). Nevertheless, we will provide a list of lip colors containing it below, as some people are sensitive to it.
