Q: Pigments? What's the difference between pigments and eyeshadows?

A: Well, they're multipurpose. You can use most of them on lips, eyes, face, body and fingernails. Click on each pigment for details on where it can be used. But yeah, primarily they're eyeshadows, and that's why the home page lists them as “eyeshadow pigments”. Click on our “about the company” page for in depth info on how to apply the pigments.

Q: Is your makeup pure mineral makeup? What does that mean anyway?

A: Yep, we offer only mineral based makeup. It only means that we don't use man-made chemicals like dyes, or artificial (and possibly irritating) fragrances. This means that the makeup is gentle and less irritating. Also, we don't use fillers like talc. Cheaper drugstore makeup (like Wet ‘n' Wild's powder or eyeshadow, for example) is filled with talc to make it more profitable- it makes eyeshadows much less pigmented. (Please note: Striptease foundation contains a form of silicone to improve performance, it is the exception.)

Q: What makes your makeup any different than the 8 bazillion other little companies making mineral makeup?

A: Well, a lot of them (by no means all- there are some fabulous small companies out there!) simply buy wholesale pre-made lower quality mineral makeup and repackage it with their label. We don't do that. We formulate our colors from “scratch” as it were, and we like to think our line of pigments and lip colors are unique… the owner has a long experience with art and painting, which segues neatly into mixing pigments for makeup. The result is some extraordinarily unique colors. Don't take our word for it- we offer really inexpensive samples, try a few ;-)

Q: Why are your prices so low, if your quality is still high?

A: We have a very low profit margin, quite simply. We're quite passionate about what we do and we want to make our makeup accessible for pretty much any budget.

Q: Some of your pigments with “sparkle” are so glittery it's hard to believe they're really eye safe- are they?

A: Yes, despite how sparkly they are they are totally safe to use near your eyes, as it's mica based glitter- cool, huh? <mini lecture>We do have to beg you not to use metal or plastic glitter near your eyes; we've seen some major department store brands sell beautiful limited edition metal glitter in conjunction with ads that show it used as eye makeup, which is horrifying frankly... sure, the fine print insert says it isn't eye safe, but jeez- if the advertising shows it, how many people will read the micro print? (And what the heck else would you use it for, craft projects?) Truly, you can lose your eyesight if you do; we know someone who had to have a cornea transplant after scratching her eye with glitter… no joke! </lecture mode>

Q: How long will it take my order to arrive?

A: You should immediately after ordering get an automated receipt; if not, please let us know and we'll send you a personal one. We fill orders in chronological order. Also, we have been putting the shipped-through date on our pigments & face pages, too, so everyone can see exactly what date we've worked through. Currently demand is pretty high and we're running around 3 to 3 1/2 weeks approximately, though we are doing our best to shorten this time (yay, we hired someone!). If you need your order sooner, please feel free to let us know, we can often accomodate you. Q: How do you ship?

A: We ship via USPS first class. We actually don't use DC for the simple reason that it makes no difference; if you don't receive your order we will replace it, DC or no DC. If you have a special shipping request please include it in the comments section of your order. If you don't include it there, email us and we'll see what we can do- it's possible it may be too late if you don't include the request in the comments section of the order.

Q: What types of payment do you take?

A: Paypal is by far and away the preferred method of payment. We also accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. (If you choose to pay with a credit card, your card is not immediately charged, the info is simply stored on a secure server until we process it through a real-world credit card terminal.) Credit card orders are charged through the terminal of my other business for the time being, Star Center. So you will see that name on your credit records. We also accept money orders, if you want to pay with one please email us. We do not take checks.

Q: Do you ship internationally?
